The problem with love is that you can’t choose
to be something other than love.
Your decision is irreversible.
“God’s Will for me is perfect happiness” and
“I have already chosen what You (God) will”
are titles of two Workbook Lessons (101 and 329) in A Course in Miracles.
(Source or Creator can be substituted for the word “God” if that works better for you.)
And now the bad news:
“That choice was made for all eternity.
It cannot change, and be in opposition to itself.”
Workbook Lesson 329 1:6-7
You may argue that it’s unfair that in reality you can’t choose
against Love and experience the opposite of love.
But you can dream that you can.
You can fall asleep and dream a fearful dream.
You can even increase fear by forgetting you are the dreamer of the dream.
You can pretend you have no control and you are the victim of the dream.
A Course in Miracles teaches that you wake up from a happy dream.
You open your eyes in a loving dream because it’s only in a loving dream
that you’re ready to remember your true identity.
