Salvation cannot … solve a problem that does not exist. Perhaps you hope it can. W-pI.96.5:6
Can you trust a God of perfect oneness that does not know about separation to solve your individual petty problems? Can you really trust that type of God to solve your relationship issues, your financial problems and your health concerns?
Is your response?
“Well there would not be much point in believing in a “God” or a Guide who couldn’t or wouldn’t solve my problems. It seems unkind to even think of a “God” that’s not interested in my little problems. I experience them as real and so I want them solved.”
In the blog post “If all your problems have been solved why are you still upset?” you found out that A Course in Miracles (ACIM) explains there is only problem and that is “separation”. The belief in separation means you think you have left your true home and now wander all alone in a universe of time and space. If separation is the only problem and all our little personal problems are a result of that one problem, then it would seem logical to conclude, that separation is the only problem you can trust you’ll receive an answer to.
But when you can’t pay the rent, your relationships are in chaos, and your body is in pain, what’s the use in hearing: “The answer to separation is to remember who you really are and realise that you’ve never left your true home and you are connected to all of life”?
ACIM understands this predicament:
What you hear may not resolve the problem as you saw it first. This leads to fear, because it contradicts what you perceive and so you feel attacked. And therefore angry. T-30.I.3:3-5
But what if all the solutions you want are contained in the one answer to the one problem? What if you need to question your judgement of what your problem really is?
Again, ACIM is so helpful if you’re ready to take it in:
But there will still be times when you have judged already. Now the answer will provoke attack, unless you quickly straighten out your mind to want an answer that will work. T-30.I.5:1-2
What could His answer be but your remembrance of Him? Can this be traded for a bit of trifling advice about a problem of an instant’s duration? God answers only for eternity. But still all little answers are contained in this. S-1.I.4:5-7
The great news is all your little problems have been solved.
The “bad” news to our self that wants to separate, is that the journey involves remembering you are not separate. The path to remembering your true nature is gently and carefully planned so that one step at a time you wake up from the idea of separation. Along the path your seemingly important individual problems are solved in a very personal way that helps you realise your one problem has already been solved.
