A Course in Miracles says there are only two things in the world: expressions of love or calls for love. No matter what the case is, love is the only answer.
The problem is that we don’t always realize things are as simple as this. In our minds, we believe that there are many other possibilities and we end up reacting to situations based on our interpretations of the situations.
I recently watched a movie called Before I Fall. The film tells a story of a teenage girl who had everything a young girl could want in life: beauty, boyfriend, girlfriends, a loving family, the safety of a financially stable home. However, this “perfect” life comes to an abrupt and sudden end on an ordinary day, except for the teenager’s death in a car accident. Seconds before actually dying, she has a chance to relive the last day of her life.
The movie brings many insights, as, every time she relived her last moments, the girl begins to realize the thoughts behind every scene. She realized that the “everything” she had, in fact, was nothing.
At a given moment, she knows that every moment of her life counts. Therefore, she does not miss any opportunity to forgive, has always a smile ready for all people and reminds everybody of their inner Self. She makes every second a real gift to her and to those around her.
For those planning to watch the movie, this is not a spoiler. There are many cool things happening that offer nice opportunities for us to think about things in our own lives.
Are you aware of everything that goes on around you? The holidays are a good time for us to be still while watching our own thoughts.
Imagine how different life would be if we were willing to look calmly at each person and had the chance to recognize that we always have an opportunity to be a messenger of love. We can be this constant reminder that we don’t need any special condition to send out a love message. A smile, a kind word, a hug, active listening, cost nothing and come from an inexhaustible source. The more we express ourselves lovingly, the better we become at this incredible and transforming art. And the best of all is that we will discover that, with love, life becomes lighter, more colorful and more beautiful.
How about you? Have you sent your love message today?
