I have a boldo tree planted in a pot on the balcony of the apartment. Since it was planted, it is growing strong, but apparently, it is just a tree of boldo, and its only functionproperties are to aid indigestion problems. That’s why it was planted among so many other ornamental plants, which shine beside it.
I thought about cutting it down a bit, because it grew more than I expected, and because it was not an ornamental plant. By the pre-set standards, it was in disharmony with the rest of the environment. However, beauty comes in places where you normally don’t expect it!
Today, when I was about to water the plants, I was surprised by a bouquet of lilac flowers, very prominent all over the boldo tree.
I was amazed, because I did not know that boldo trees produce flowers.
Looking at all the pots, I realized that at this moment, the uninteresting plant was the only one that had flowers.
The coolest thing was to understand that beauty was always there, but I had never realized…
This brought me an insight into our own essence. How often do we fail to observe the best that we have, by depreciating, comparing, when all we have to offer is just waiting to be recognized and remembered? How many beautiful “flowers” are we are ready to produce, but amidst so much distraction, we do not allow the best in us to blossom?
And more: recognizing the best in us contributes to the recognition of the best in everything that exists, including in the little boldo tree. This beautiful plant was only waiting for the right moment to fulfill its purpose and to adorn the balcony next to the other ornamental plants, forming together a beautiful scene.
