Do you sometimes have the feeling that you are living the same thing every day? Do you have the feeling that today is just a repetition of yesterday? If this is happening, do you believe that you are responsible for it?
You may not realize it, but you’re likely to spend most of your days avoiding exactly what you say you want: something new in your life.
We want to feel safe in all situations. In this quest for safety, we follow the ego’s ultimate premise: avoiding pain and seeking pleasure. It’s very subtle and maybe you’re thinking, “but what am I supposed to do, if not that?”
To feel safe, we try something that, by itself, is impossible and doomed to fail: we try to control everything that happens or could happen to us. In our insane search for a seeming safety, we always do the same things, and so we avoid discomforts, but we also stop ourselves from experiencing new sensations.
Every time fateful events surprise us, we store the “bad” feeling in our “database of emotions” and label it “something to be avoided”. Therefore, without realizing it, we live each day without allowing the possibility of living something new.
Imagine that you enjoy dancing very much, that you look at people who dance at parties and admire them. You’d love to take chances and make your own moves, even if they look awkward. Perhaps when you go to parties, you remain hidden, just watching, perhaps daring to tap your fingers on your legs, or slightly move some parts of your body and head while you watch other people and avoid noticing the bodily sensations that this situation brings about.
However, something in you does not allow you to stand up and hit the dance floor. Why does it happen? An inner judge tells us that we are not good enough, that there are things we should not do, that worries about what other people think about ourselves. On the other hand, there is a deep and profound fear of going beyond a sense of discomfort, of transcending it.
When faced with such a situation, the easiest and most commonly chosen reaction is to remain seated and experience a known pain: the pain of not being free. We lack the courage to try to go one step further, which could transmute this discomfort. Therefore, we choose to relive this pain, which is a known and bearable pain, with which we learn to live in different situations.
The invitation I would like to make for you and myself at this time is to at least question whether choosing to stay in the comfort zone is the best option. When we feel this discomfort and go through it, even if it is very difficult, there is the possibility of living something new, liberating. There is a chance that what we have being avoiding our whole life is not something bad after all. We don’t know that!
I’m giving it a try and I hope you’ll come with me!

We are pleased to say that a good friend Carolina Corada is hosting Miracle Choice in Ibiza for the October weekend workshop and Pocket Game Training. Carolina is a wonderful Course in Miracles Teacher and organiser of the Ibiza Enlight Festival. The festival is normally in Ibiza every October but because the festival is not happening this year, we decided to go there with Miracle Choice. Carolina has agreed to be a guest speaker in the workshop – Choose A Miracle and Change your Life.
We have added her Ibiza Enlight Festival video below – it is inspiring to watch as is Juliana’s video.
