Stop, think and make a list of the three most common emotions that you feel daily.
You may have identified an “indulgent emotion. They are the ones that don’t enrich your life, and yet you continue to use and nurture them.
The secret is to “detect” this cycle and the illusory comfort you find in these emotions. From then on, you will be more aware of what you are creating and how you intend to continue: as a victim or as an empowered being.
These are some indulgent emotions that are not helpful:
– confusion (I don’t know)
Ask yourself, “Why am I choosing to feel these feelings so often?”
One answer is that we feel some relief and familiarity when we repeatedly allow the same emotions. They give us an excuse not to change and to get totally into our lives if we think that change is hard or difficult. We feel better for a short period of time, but we don’t get to live our true selves.
