In my last blog ‘Attacked and not Attacked’ I mentioned playing a competitive board game every day during a family holiday. I was the one who read the instructions in advance and invested time to get to know the game. I thought I had an advantage.
The four of us played six games during the week and I didn’t win a single game!
During the fifth game it seemed that I was ahead, and I was excited that this was my time to win. We paused the game until the following day because it was getting late in the evening. The following morning while I was having a quiet moment by myself, I happened to glance at the game board on the table and I had an insight about winning.
I realised that I had in fact already won the game four times already that week!
When Catia, Yana or Yuri won a game I was also victorious in that moment. I did not just lose any game by myself, but I shared the losing experience of the other losing players. In fact in that moment I shared the losing experience of all players everywhere.
There is a profound teaching:
You are not in the world.
The world is in you.
I found that I had spontaneously applied that message to playing a board game. All the players are in me. The winners and losers are both in me. So in fact during the week I won 6 times and shared in the experience of losing 6 times. Everything happens within me.
We are always a winner and a loser. We can easily embrace both these experiences when we know we are the love that is free of all attributes including those of winning or losing.
