James has been dedicated to the spiritual path, A Course in Miracles, since the mid 90s and is fascinated by choice – the choice we have in every moment to choose miracles or fear.
He remembers just how powerful choice is when he recalls staying at a beautiful beach in Brazil called dolphin bay: “Despite swimming with dolphins I felt miserable and later I realised that no matter how beautiful the environment, I still have to choose to be happy!
James has been involved in experiential learning since deciding to live and work at the Findhorn Foundation nearly 20 years ago, an international spiritual community in NE Scotland. After years of intense learning in group environments, James went on to co-facilitate week long workshops for the Foundation. He then went on to present workshops in the UK as a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication as well as for UNIPAZ (University of Peace) in Brazil. James also holds a diploma in Training and Development.
A call to deepen his work with A Course in Miracles combined with his desire to live choice in every moment led James to create a board game called Miracle Choice.
James got the idea of using a board game as a tool, after playing a financial board game that allowed players to make mistakes and learn about investing. The idea of using a game to teach by using real life situations, made James think about using a game to help people experience some of the teachings of A Course in Miracles by bringing their own real life situations into a game.
The game appeals to dedicated students of A Course in Miracles, people who have the book on the shelf but don’t know where to begin the Course, or anyone practising a spiritual path that recognises the importance of inner choice.
James is back living with his family and two cats in NE Scotland. he has recently given up his full time work as a veterinary surgeon to dedicate his energy full time to Miracle Choice.
