When I am troubled or confused, I often forget there is an empty place within myself that can come up with all the answers I need.
Sometimes I rush to the seeming comfort of my quick mind and rely on its ability to think things through. At other times I tune into my feelings and wonder what direction they are leading me to take. Sometimes I ask the advice of other people or consult the wisdom of a book.
Then I remember there is a space within myself where the problem came from in the first place and so surely the answer is to be found there also?
Do I have to still all my thinking, feeling and action before I know the answer?
It may be good to let all your thoughts, feelings, and desires to just be. It may work for you to write them down before you wait for the answer you need.
Trust for me is a process that involves first knowing that the place where the problem came from also has the solution. Then I must let the usual responses come and lay them aside. To look at and then leave the temptation to feel like a victim, defend my position, or take action to correct something that is not right. Next, I look to ‘see’ the empty space within myself. A place empty of ideas, emotions, and desires. An aware nothingness that is not understandable. An unknown Clarity. These words are mine, but you have your own. You may call that space ‘God’, ‘Spirit’, ‘True Self’, Inner Guide. You need to go to a place beyond words, images, and concepts – to the Source of the world, the Source of all problems and answers.
Finally, I wait.
Trust is knowing that an answer will come in its own time.
Immediately perhaps or the next day when you are not thinking about the problem.
After this process you see that your problems or needs are but another opportunity to remember the Source of all problems and answers. There inside in that quiet space all your needs are reliably satisfied.
The quotation below are the beautiful words from A Course of Love. They may or may not resonate with your way of describing your inner experience. The description of trusting in the quiet space will vary from one person to another and that does not matter. What matters is the realisation that that your inner quiet space is One Clear Space that we all share.
“Your needs only continue to be brought to your awareness as needs until your trust in their immediate and ongoing fulfillment is complete. Once this trust is realized you will no longer think in terms of needs at all.” A Course of Love, second Treatise.
By James Kelly, Miracle Choice.
PS The trust process I have just described is the experience that Facilitators (and Guides) have with the Miracle Choice Games. The games provide a context, “a practice place” to become aware of answers that come from the One Space that both players and facilitators share.
The first English language completely online Facilitator Training (using the Zoom platform) is at the start of June. I will confirm the dates and times in the next few days but it will start on a Thursday 4th or Thursday 11th June and run every Thursday in June. Please reply to this email and I can give you more details.
We say to the trainees: “You are not in charge of what happens in a game, your inner Guide (empty Space) is coming up with the answers.”
